Here I go again on my own...
We did something really important last friday.

I'm wiped out. We spent the weekend in the new place, installing the washer, drier, and fridge. We cleaned, started to unpack, set up two beds, changed all the door locks, tried and failed to mow the back acre (previous owner left the springs from his trampoline as a nice surprise), had some delicious meals at the cafe, and mostly stood around wondering what we have gotten ourselves into.
Did I mention that the first time I set foot into the house was a mere 5 hours before our scheduled closing?
Luckily, Jason and I have wonderful family who helped make the weekend much easier than it could have ended up.
So, here's the house list:
1. remove all wallpaper
2. fix refrigerator water supply
3. trim tree around electric lines
4. carpet bedroom 3
5. put floor coveirng in master bath
6. paint
7. replace countertops in kitchen
8. replace floor in kitchen
9. landscape
10. remove all popcorn from ceilings
11. update light fixtures
12. clean ceiling fans
13. replace all misc. shelving
14. unpack
I'm sure there will be plenty more to add to this, but this is the important stuff, at the moment.
So, what else has been going on in the past 8 months? Both Jason and I changed jobs, we moved to CA, Jason started his masters degree, I fly to seattle every week for work, Little brother started high school, little sister started college, older brother finished his thesis, and got his Ph.D., Mother-in-law retired, I learned how to make cheese, finished a 4000 piece puzzle, spent lots of time reading, and finished the turtle quilt.
